Gold hits 1-month low, eyes longest downturn since 2009

Gold dropped to the lowest in almost a month as filings showed that George Soros and Blackrock Inc. (BLK) cut holdings of bullion-backed exchange-traded products, adding to signs that investment demand is waning as U.S. equities rally to records. Silver slid. 

Many people accumulated gold in the aftermath of the financial crisis in 2008 and with investors expecting economic improvement going forward, holdings in ETFs have more room to fall.

Turmeric Arrivals Down In Nizamabad Mandi

According to market sources, turmeric price in the Nizamabad mandi stood at Rs 5,800-5,900 per quintal and the arrivals decreased to 4,000 bags from 5,000 bags.

The NCDEX Turmeric June contract moved in the range of Rs 5,766-6,026 and is currently trading higher at Rs 5,980 per quintal, up by Rs 186 or 3.21% per quintal.

Potato Arrivals Slump In Azadpur Mandi

Potato arrivals in the Azadpur mandi in the state of Delhi stood at 110 trucks (120 trucks as on 15th May 2013). Among the varieties, UP quoted steady in the range of Rs 800-1,000 per quintal

The MCX Potato June contract moved in the range of Rs 921.40-931 per quintal and is currently trading lower at Rs 926 per quintal, down by 1.11% per quintal.
